So you already have the basic skills but now you want to grow and explore your practice? On Next steps each week you will be learning a new skill all culminating in your first go at a tea pot! Along the way you’ll dip your toes into Kintsugi and even give mould making a go. Each new skill is a new challenge that will help you grow into a well rounded potter.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Week 1 - Wedging, glaze mixing and proper studio practice

Week 2 - Advanced handbuilding and vessel making

Week 3 - Mould making

Week 4 - Kintsugi

Week 5 - working with slip

Week 6+7 - Making a teapot

Week 8 - freestyle week for completing projects

You will also have two throwing sessions to be booked in whenever you want

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This course is pitched towards people who have already completed our fundamentals course or already have experience of the basics. This a progression course you should already understand the basic skills of ceramics and are looking to grow your practice.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

• 16 hours of tuition + 2 2hr throwing sessions to be used when you want

• all materials including clays, glazes and community tools

• Your own Wedge sketchbook

• Firing of a handful of pieces made during the course, within reasonable size and scale!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

• An apron or old T-shirt

• Ideas, scrapbook, Pinterest boards

WHO LEADS THE COURSE?

• Next Steps is taught by a number of studio teachers.
